Apple cinnamon red lentil breakfast porridge

Cooking Method

Pure the  water and red lentils into a pot and bring to a boil. Cut the apples into small pieces and some larger pieces.

Once the lentils are boiling, add in the chopped small apple pieces (save the larger pieces for later) into the pot and sprinkle with cinnamon. Stir around, reduce heat to  low and cook until the lentils are soft (about 10 minutes) Once they are cooked, taste and decide if you need brown sugar or honey to sweeten the porridge.

Add honey and cinnamon to the remaining larger apple pieces.

Serve the porridge in a breakfast bowl and add on top the apples.
