Start by washing the green split peas well under water in a strainer.
Put them in a pan and add enough warm water to cover them.
Add the grated onion and boil for 40 minutes.
In the last 10 minutes add in the pan the pasta. Strain the pasta with the peas and transfer them to a bowl.
Finely chop all the herbs and mix them together with the pasta peas. Pour in olive oil, add salt and pepper and mix all together.
Finally, serve into the dishes and garnish with grated graviera cheese.
